The mode of transport that is best for you
Here is where the Bridal couple can be as imaginative as they like. Innovation can take precidence over the traditions and formalities, leading to new and unique forms of arriving at the wedding ceremony and even the reception. For the more traditional seeker, the smart car, or family's borrowed vehicle, is decorated in as many ribbons and graffitti markings as possible, to lead the newly weds away in as much attention as possible. Ribbons and loose items flowing at the back. The most important factor when choosing transport is that it fits with your overall theme. For example, a traditional wedding would go well with a traditional classic car, such as a luxury Bentley or Rolls Royce. If you are planning a glamorous and over-the-top luxurious affair, a stretch limousine with blacked-out windows would seem right at home.
The weather will, of course, depend on the type of car. As luxurious as the convertible/open top car is, the Bride must think whether the 'wind swept' hair look will really fit into her wedding theme. If the wind appears to be on your side, will the rain? A luxury car is a large expense in the wedding budget and the weather needs to be taken into consideration when leaving the top down, as a rainy day will most certainly change the mood.
In a Fairytale story entrance, the horse-drawn carriage always plays the biggest part. Providing you do not travel too fast, to once again avoid the 'wind-swept' look that will surely put your perfect hair style out of place. Again, the weather needs to be taken into consideration, plus the route to be travelled, as there is not much suspension on a horse-drawn carriage. Ornate and floral-clad horse drawn carriages are a particular favourite for weddings. Opting for this form of transport could be problematic, however, for a couple tying the knot in a busy town centre. It is worth taking traffic into consideration to determine whether it would be a viable option.
For the more adventurous couples, there are endless options to choose from, all depending on your imagination and your bravery levels! Landing by parachute, helicopter, motorbike, bi-plane, abseiling, swimming, canoe/raft... the options can go on. But your budget will usually be the ultimate decider, as some of the more extravagent options can be quite pricey. Also safety options will have to be looked at, as the last place you want to be on your wedding day is in the Accident and Emergency department of the hospital!
As long as you can imagine it, your transportation mode can be anything you like, plus it will show your guests what type of couple you are and how much fun your wedding day will be. However, just because you choose to arrive in the most elegant and sophisticated luxury car, does not mean your day will be any less special. The only thing to keep in mind is that you are going to be comfortable with your choice and be able to look back on your day and smile. Whatever you choose make sure to stock your transport up with champagne and a few snacks to really enjoy yourself.
