With the size of the average UK woman now a 14, brides are getting bigger. With this influx it is now easier than ever for women of all sizes to look great on their wedding day.
Many clothes manufacturers now make larger sizes to cope with the demand, and an array of specialist shops have sprung up over the last few years aimed at making bigger brides appear their best on such an important day. Women of size 14 and above have become the social norm and restrictions on clothing for different sizes need no longer apply.
So when picking the perfect dress as a larger woman, what are the rules? There are none! As with smaller figures too it is shape that is the issue rather than size and balance is the key to creating a flattering hourglass shape.
Apple
V-shaped necklines are the most flattering on rounder busts. An Empire cut elongates the torso, making you appear less heavy around the middle.
Pear-shaped
A-line skirts are perfect at hiding big hips and thighs, whilst halter-necks will broaden the shoulders balancing out your lower half.
